(Woodland, CA) – February 6, 2023– On February 2, 2023, Robert James Richey, II, was arraigned in Yolo County Superior Court and pled not guilty on charges alleging retail theft, grand theft, and retail theft.

Richey, 42, who has been transient in Yolo County, was arrested by the Davis Police Department on January 31, 2023, on suspicion of organized retail theft. After his arrest, the Davis Police Department tied him to multiple thefts occurring over the past few months. On February 2, 2023, The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint alleging organized retail theft, four felony counts of grand theft, nine counts of shoplifting, and four counts of conspiracy to commit theft from September 22, 2022, and January 31, 2023. An enhancement for committing these offenses while out on bail or own recognizance was additionally alleged. A co-perpetrator in some of the offenses has not been identified.

Ritchey is scheduled for a Pre-Preliminary Hearing conference on February 8, 2023, in Department 7. He is pending a trial setting conference in two separate cases. He is currently out of custody on $10,000 bail.
