Press Release

(Woodland, CA) – (December 13, 2019) — District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced today that, on December 11, 2019, West Sacramento resident Robert Gomez (51-years-old) plead no contest to Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Child under the age of 13. Gomez admitted he previously suffered a conviction for Lewd or Lascivious conduct with a child under the age of 13 on August 18, 1995. Gomez is scheduled to be sentenced to 21 years in prison before the Honorable David Rosenberg on January 10, 2020 at 10am in Department 14 of the Yolo County Superior Court.

On June 7, 2019, the defendant was at his residence in West Sacramento with his wife and minor victim. The victim was playing video games in defendant’s room when she fell asleep on his bed. While victim slept, the defendant unzipped her pants and touched her private area under her underpants. The victim immediately told defendant to stop and ran to the bathroom crying. She asked the defendant to take her home. The victim immediately reported this incident to her mother who called the police. The defendant was previously convicted on August 18, 1995 of molesting his then girlfriend’s minor daughter (separate victim).

District Attorney Jeff Reisig commended the victim in this case for her courage in coming forward. The courage of both victims, past and current, and their willingness to relive their horrific experiences, made this outcome possible.
