(Woodland, CA) – March 1, 2024 – On February 28, 2024, 44-year-old Antonio Garland Compton, and 35-year-old Michael Dean Cole, both Sacramento residents, were arrested by West Sacramento Police, for a retail theft incident, which was committed at Target in West Sacramento, CA.

Compton has been charged with conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor; possession of firearm by person previously convicted of a felony; carrying loaded firearm in public place when firearm is stolen; carrying loaded firearm when not the registered owner of the firearm; resisting executive officer by means of threats, force or violence; and an enhancement for being armed with a firearm. An additional enhancement related to factors in aggravation included being armed with or used a weapon at the time of the commission of the crime; the manner in which the crime was carried out indicated planning sophistication, or professionalism; engaged in violent conduct which indicated a serious danger to society; and that prior convictions are numerous or of increasing seriousness.

Cole has been charged with conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, and an enhancement for being armed with a firearm. An enhancement related to factors in aggravation alleged the manner in which the crime was carried out indicated planning sophistication, or professionalism; engaged in violent conduct which indicated a serious danger to society; prior convictions are numerous or of increasing seriousness; prior prison term; being on probation or parole when this crime was committed; and for unsatisfactory performance on probation or parole.

District Attorney Jeff Reisig commented. “Our office takes retail theft cases very seriously. These offenses harm our local businesses and the quality of life for everyone.”

Cole and Compton will be arraigned on their charges today at 1:30 in Dept. 1 of the Yolo County Superior Court.
