(Woodland, CA) – July 27, 2023 – On July 21, 2023, 55-year-old Woodland resident, Joseph Michael Cain, was arrested after reports were made regarding the theft of large quantities of fuel from a local farmer. The Yolo County District Attorney has filed two charges of grand theft when value exceeds $950; one charge of possession of controlled substance; one charge of unlawful display of evidence or registration; and one case enhancement alleging his prior convictions, prison terms and poor performance on probation or parole. District Attorney Jeff Reisig stated that “the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office is committed to protecting our agricultural communities’ assets.”
Cain was arraigned on the charges on July 25, 2023. A preliminary hearing is set for August 22, 2023, at 9:00 am, in Dept. 7 of the Yolo County Superior Court.
