(Woodland, CA) – September 27, 2023 – On September 23, 2023, 44-year-old Don Rose, a transient in the city of West Sacramento, was arrested after a store employee flagged down a police officer to report an in-progress attack on a loss prevention officer who had attempted to stop a shoplifter. The Yolo County District Attorney has filed one felony charge of second-degree robbery; one charge of possession of controlled substance; and case enhancements alleging his prior felony convictions, prison terms and for being a habitual criminal. District Attorney Jeff Reisig stated that “the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office is committed to the aggressive prosecution of all retail crimes, especially when any force or violence is involved.”
Rose will be arraigned on the charges today at 1:30 pm, in Dept. 1 of the Yolo County Superior Court. If convicted as charged, Rose faces up to 15 years in state prison.
