Other Volunteer Opportunities

The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office is proud to have a thriving volunteer program.  Our volunteers range from college students to retired veterans and they all serve a very important purpose assisting many departments throughout our office.  If you are interested in other opportunities please send a cover letter and resume to Wendy Wilcox at Wendy.Wilcox@yolocounty.org and state how you would like to volunteer your time.

The District Attorney’s Office is a great place to volunteer.  I sincerely believe in the work they do daily.  I’ve personally witnessed the passion the attorneys, investigators, and social workers have as they speak about their cases.  They know the importance of their jobs and are truly helping people by their commitment to ensuring that justice is done and providing assistance to victims.  It is easy to align myself with such a good cause.

In addition to being able to be part of this gratifying work, it has been my experience that the regular employees (including District Attorney Jeff Reisig) go out of their way, through words and actions, to make sure I know my volunteer time is appreciated.  It is unusual to find such a positive atmosphere of gratitude and teamwork.

I became a volunteer so that I could give something back to our community.  Since becoming a volunteer I have had the opportunity to observe the inner workings of the District Attorney’s Office.  I have skills that I can offer that are needed and appreciated.  I enjoy working with the full time personnel.  As a volunteer I offer my time when I can.  It is a rewarding experience.  I have resided in Yolo County for 40 plus years.  I have reaped the benefits of living here and now I have the opportunity to give something of myself back to the community.

I enjoy volunteering because I am doing work that is completely foreign from anything I’ve done in my career.  It feels nice that even at age 79, I am learning new and exciting things.  All of the people here are very nice and easy to work with.
