(Woodland, CA) – January 6, 2017 – District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced today that the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency, in collaboration with the District Attorney, Public Defender, and Probation Department will host three Proposition 47 Community Engagement meetings in the cities of Woodland, Davis and West Sacramento.

On November 17, 2016, the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) announced that it will disperse grant funding in the amount of $103 million in Proposition 47 savings over 38 months. The funding will be used for rehabilitative programs that offer mental health services, substance-use disorder treatment and diversion opportunities, along with housing and job-skills training.

The purpose of these meetings is to get input from the public regarding how this unique funding will be used. Community members, including people affected by crime and individuals who have spent time in jail or prison, are encouraged to attend. The lead agency in the preparation of this grant is the Health and Human Services Agency in collaboration with the District Attorney, Probation Department and the Public Defender.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:
