(Woodland, CA) – June 8, 2020 – Two more individuals previously released from custody as a result of California Judicial Council’s Statewide Emergency “0” Bail Schedule were charged with new crimes. The “0” Bail Schedule became effective April 13, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Woodland man, Scott Nelson, 32, has been charged with a felon in possession of ammunition as a misdemeanor by the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office. Nelson was arrested on April 20, 2020, on charges of felon in possession of ammunition and then released pursuant to the Emergency “0” Bail Schedule. A complaint was filed alleging the possession of ammunition as a misdemeanor. On April 27, 2020, Nelson was cited and released for public intoxication. A misdemeanor complaint has been filed alleging the public intoxication. Nelson was arrested on May 1, 2020, for felony vandalism. A complaint has been filed alleging the felony vandalism. Following his release on $0 bail, Nelson was again arrested and cited on May 9, 2020 for misdemeanor burglary and on May 19, 2020 for petty theft. Misdemeanor charges have been filed alleging misdemeanor burglary and petty theft. Nelson was arrested and again released on May 30, 2020, for obstructing a business. A complaint has been filed alleging a misdemeanor violation of obstructing a business and trespass. At the time Nelson was arrested for these crimes, he was on Mandatory Supervision following a vandalism conviction which resulted in him being sentenced to County Prison on December 9, 2019. As a result of these recent arrests, the Yolo County Probation Department filed a petition to revoke his Mandatory Supervision on May 28, 2020.

Thirty-year-old Woodland man, Clifford Garrison, was arrested on May 22, 2020, for negligent discharge of a firearm and was released on $0 bail. He was subsequently arrested by the Woodland Police Department on May 31, 2020, for felony evading a peace officer with reckless disregard and driving under the influence. He was released again on $0 bail. The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office filed two complaints. The first alleging the negligent discharge of a firearm; the second alleges felony evading with reckless disregard and driving under the influence. Due to the court setting dates out 4-5 months out, Garrison’s arraignment is set on November 3, 2020.
