(Woodland, CA) – November 21, 2025 – On November 19, 2025, Edward William Pharr Jr., transient in both Davis and Woodland, was arraigned in the Yolo County Superior Court on a felony complaint alleging a felony violation of driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or above for a offense that occurred on November 15, 2025, in the City of Davis. Pharr (51) was also charged with hit and run causing injury, multiple counts of driving on a suspended license causing injury and driving on a suspended license. It was also alleged that Pharr caused injury to multiple victims, had a prior driving under the influence conviction that occurred on October 15, 2025, and has two prior strike convictions. Pharr was also arraigned on a violation of probation for the prior DUI.

On November 11, 1998, Pharr went over to Andre Salsedo’s apartment on Pecan St., in the City of West Sacrament, armed with a shotgun. Pharr had a brief conversation with Salsedo and then shot Salsedo through the door of the apartment, killing him. After a Yolo County jury convicted Pharr of Second-Degree Murder, the trial judge sentenced Pharr to 16-years-to-life in prison for the murder. On January 13, 2021, Pharr was granted parole under California’s Youthful Offender law.

At his arraignment, held before the Honorable Danette Brown, Pharr entered not guilty pleas to all charges and denied the special allegations. His next court appearance is set for December 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. for a preliminary hearing in Department 10 of the Yolo County Superior Court. Bail is set at $100,000 in the new case and $10,000 for the violation of probation.
