Press Release

(Woodland, CA) – February 16, 2017 – Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced today that the Neighborhood Court (NHC) program will be hosting a presentation by Lisa Baker of Yolo County Housing (YCH). This presentation will be open to the public, and will provide interested community members with a chance to learn more about the challenges and realities of affordable housing in Yolo County, as well as the resources available for those in need.

Ms. Baker previously presented on this top to NHC volunteers on July 12, 2016, in West Sacramento, and on September 20, 2016, in Woodland. After the presentation NHC volunteers became better informed and educated about the state of affordable housing and resources available within their community. While this information was beneficial to volunteers seeking restorative options for participants who may be experiencing financial hardship or housing insecurity, many also felt it was information that would benefit the greater community as a whole. Encouraged by this feedback, NHC staff and Ms. Baker decided to open this informational experience to the public, so that all who are interested might benefit.

Those interested in learning more on this subject are encouraged to attend.

Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in the Community Room at the Davis Police Department (2500 6th Street), from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Light snacks will be provided, and there will be a question and answer period following the presentation. Please direct any questions or concerns to NeighborhoodCourt@yolocounty.org or call (530) 666-8378.
