(Woodland, CA) – April 26, 2022 – Today, Walnut Grove resident Alejandro Gutierrez was arraigned in Yolo County Superior Court on multiple charges including organized retail theft, grand theft, burglary, and robbery. A co-defendant, Lodi resident Steven Todd, was arraigned on April 22, 2022 on charges of organized retail theft, grand theft, and burglary.

The two were arrested by the West Sacramento Police Department on April 18, 2022 on suspicion of robbery and two thefts on the same day involving $10,000 worth of cigarettes from Core Mark in West Sacramento. The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint on April 19, 2022, alleging robbery as to Gutierrez only, two counts of organized retail theft, two counts of grand theft, two counts of burglary as to both Gutierrez and Todd, and an additional count of brandishing a knife alleged against Gutierrez.

Gutierrez, 26, and Todd, 36, entered not guilty pleas. They are scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing on May 6, 2022. Todd was released on his own recognizance while Todd remains in custody with bail set in the amount of $50,000.
