Press Release

(Woodland, CA) – April 25, 2016 – District Attorney Jeff Reisig on April 18, 2016, the Honorable Samuel T. McAdam sentenced 47-year-old Sacramento man Duane Scott to 10 years in state prison for molesting a four year old girl. On October 19, 2015, a Yolo County jury convicted Scott for this crime which occurred 12 years ago. Scott was dating the girl’s mother and lived with the family in Davis from October 2003 to February 2004. Scott came into the girl’s bedroom at night and touched her private parts. Afterward, Scott told the girl not to tell anyone or she would never see her mom again. The girl did not tell anyone until she was 16 years old and the crime was reported to the Davis Police Department. This was not Scott’s first conviction of child molestation. In 2004, after he moved out of Davis, Scott was convicted in Alameda County of Sexual Penetration by Force for raping a 15 year old girl. The ten year state prison sentence is the maximum sentence allowed by law for this crime.
